Aeon Back at Pride
Aeon Events & Wild Fruit be working with partners Revenge & G Scene Magazine to stage Pride 2012.
This year Brighton's biggest festival has been re scheduled to the 1st September with all large events having to move date due to the Olympics.
The City Council have given the go ahead to the newly established group, Pride Brighton and Hove to organise a Pride in 2012.
Former Pride in Brighton and Hove trustee, Councillor Geoffrey Bowden, chair of culture, recreation and tourism made the announcement at a cabinet meeting at Hove Town Hall this afternoon.
Cllr Geoffrey Bowden, said he fully endorsed his officers recommendations to grant the responsibility of running Pride 2012 to the new 'community interest not for profit company' made up of Club Revenge, Paul Kemp of Aeon Events & James Ledward from Gscene Magazine.
Paul Kemp of Aeon Event and Wild Fruit, said:
'Aeon Events and Wild Fruit have a long and proud history with Brighton Pride. Although we look forward to Wild Fruit being back on the park hosting the dance tent this year, our primary objective is to help ensure essential funds are raised for our community groups and HIV organisations.'
All three organisations are committed to returning Brighton Pride to its position as the best and friendliest Pride in the UK.
The new 'guardians' of Pride Brighton and Hove are dedicated to restoring the festival to its charitable roots, to raise money for local LGBT and HIV voluntary organisations.
