Review: Black & White Extravaganza.
Black & White Extravaganza at the Royal Pavilion Gardens Brighton.
Tonight, compered by the lovely, leggy Billie Lewis and hosted by the towering Miss Hope Springs, was a glitzy Rainbow Fundraiser down by the Pavilion Ice Rink. It really was something just a little bit special.
Three courses of fine food, a hundred or so friends dressed in their black and white finery and loads of fine entertainment on stage comprising a live band and loads of gorgeous (mostly very tall) acts. Lovely!
Miss Hope Springs may have had a somewhat tempestuous relationship with her audience tonight but this didn't detract from her deft piano playing and tuneful voice as she sang us through the evening - as well as introducing and accompanying other acts.
Joining Miss Springs was a buxom (and much taller than I remember) Amy Winehouse who'd returned from the grave with a few favourite Winehouse classics - to much applause. Mz Kimberly added her absolutely stunning voice to the mix for a couple of high velocity dance tracks.
The hugely talented Cassidy Connors (Wezley Sebastian ) took numbers straight from her starring role in the West End's Priscilla Queen of the Desert and - the grand finale - the brilliant Sundaes real show-stoppers and absolutely undoubtedly not the last time you'll be reading about them.
Fabulous choreography and fantastic voices resulting in ice-skaters stopping outside to peer through the windows and catch some of the show!
Stephanie Starlet was on hand to make sure everyone had their raffle tickets - with an outrageous selection of luxurious prizes which all went to one lucky 9 year old!
DJs Queen Jo and Lil Alex took to the decks to provide the post-dining entertainment and the sumptuous night of top quality loveliness drew to a close!
The night was a truly glamorous affair enjoyed by all.
